As you have no doubt heard from every Minnesota non-profit you have ever been associated with, Give to the Max Day is this Wednesday, November 16th. We announced exciting news at the Stakeholders Meeting last week: the Slaggie Family Foundation has issued a match on all new and increased donations and pledges up to $300,000 - the largest single donation ever to GRSF.
The Setting the Stage Campaign has crossed the million dollar mark in cash and pledges. When we complete the Slaggie Foundation match, we’ll have made our goal. Please help us get started by making a new or increased donation or pledge on Give to the Max Day.
More updates from the Board and Stakeholders Meeting
More than 150 people joined the conversation at the First Annual Stakeholders Meeting. The big news included:
- The 2012 Season will run one week longer: June 20th to August 5th and will feature King Lear, The Two Gentlemen of Verona and…
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)
By Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield
- The Slaggie Family Foundation made the single largest gift ever to GRSF, a $300,000 matching grant. Start matching.
- GRSF has an accumulated deficit for 8 seasons of $188,166. With belt tightening and careful financial management, GRSF will begin to cut into this deficit with an operating surplus in 2012. On November 14th, the GRSF board approved a total cash and in-kind budget of $863,457 for the 2012 season that realizes this goal. Download a detailed 2012 budget.
- To finance the accumulated deficit and allow the community to own the company, GRSF announced a new Legacy Bond Investment Program. GRSF patrons have already purchased 31 of the available 50 bonds.
