Helena, a beautiful young woman travels to the court of the King of France where she employs healing powers inherited from her father to cure the ailing king. In return, the King of France offers Helena her choice of any eligible young man in the realm in marriage. Helena chooses Bertram, a young nobleman whom she has known and loved since childhood.
