. . . and the 2009 Season.
Over the last five years, you’ve built one of the finest Shakespeare Festivals in the United States. You’ve been volunteers, individual donors, corporate sponsors, and playgoers (many for the first time). Without you, we never would have come this far.
Now, we need to ask for your help once again. The global financial crisis has crippled arts funding in this country, and has forced many of our generous sponsors and donors to curtail or cancel their gifts. GRSF, in anticipation of our funding challenges this year, has cut $100,000.00 from this season’s budget.
Have a look at Christopher Gerson’s wonderful video over on the left of this page, and please consider making a donation today by going to our “Contribute” page. Even the smallest gift will help us keep the Festival alive.
“If it’s important, then give.
If it’s important, then volunteer.
If it’s important, then crusade. …”

I thought the old site was nicely done but this is a huge step up: It’s beauitfully designed, easily navigated, multi-layered and inviting. Nice job, guys!
Kathy - Thanks so much for the kind words and encouragement!
My artist friend, Shirley Sauls, will be removing her Shakespeare pieces from the community theater here in La Crosse tomorrow. They would be an excellent exhibit for your festival. If you are interested, I will contact her. The pieces are small, 14 of them, and of mixed media.
Hi GRSF:
I am coming to the Winona area later this month and would like some information on the Friday June 26 lawn performance. I understand the Shakespeare event in limited to subscribers that evening. Do I need tickets for the lawn event? I understand it is a musical venue. Also, do people picnic and is food sold there?
I am visiting family in the area and am driving up from Evanston, IL.
Thanks–Susan Bautch
Prelude concerts are free and open to the public! Please see http://grsf.org/plays-and-tickets and click on the “Before the Play” tab for more information.
What beautiful work! It’s a real joy to see what you’ve done with this website. Not only is it nice to look at, but it’s so easy to find information… which isn’t the case with many websites….. congratulations!
