Box Office Policies and Guidelines

Thanks for joining us at GRSF! Please use the following information to acclimate yourself to the Winona State University DuFresne Performing Arts Center and with GRSF performance policies.

Accessibility: If you need assistance getting into your seat or into the PAC, please contact the Box Office prior to the performance, or find an usher to assist you. Fully accessible seating is available by contacting the Box Office. GRSF staff are happy to make your trip to the theater as enjoyable as possible. If you need accommodations such as a breastfeeding/pump area, audio description, space for a service animal, assistance with mobility/cane, or anything else, please contact the box office at 507.474.7900. GRSF works to ensure all patrons can enjoy the theater.

Calendar: The GRSF has two calendars to help you plan your visit. An interactive calendar with complete event information, and a downloadable pdf. Both are available at

Cameras and Recording: The use of cameras or any other recording device is strictly prohibited.

Cancellations and Exchanges: GRSF is happy to accommodate changes. If at all possible, contact the Box Office 24 hours prior to the scheduled performance. Exchanges are subject to availability. In the event you cannot use your tickets, you may call the Box Office to donate them back to the theater; this will count as a tax-deductible donation.

Children: GRSF suggests their performances to theater-goers age 11 and up. Of course, there are often younger children who are able to attend performances, which is up to the discretion of their guardian. All children in attendance are required to have a ticket. Absolutely no children under the age of 6 are allowed in the theater during professional performances. Please contact the Box Office with questions.

Education: Education is important to GRSF. There are educational offerings for all ages, including programs during the school year. If you are interested in bringing GRSF education programs to your group any time of the year, contact

Electronic Devices: Sounds and light from electronic devices are extremely disruptive to other audience members and performers. Please refrain from using any devices during a performances, and make sure all devices are turned off or silenced.

Emergencies: GRSF House Management and Usher Staff are available to assist you in any emergency. A first aid kit is available in the Box Office.

Food and Beverage: A variety of food and beverages are available for purchase at the concession stand prior to the performance and during intermission in the lobby. Beverages can be brought into the theater ONLY if they are in a GRSF souvenir cup. These will ensure no liquid is spilled inside the WSU theater. No food is allowed in the theater.

Front Porch Events: These are series of special events and symposiums to further explore the conversations that begin in the theatre and continue into our daily lives. Regularly held Saturday mornings during the festival season. Some Front Porch events are ticketed, while others are Pay-What-You-WILL and advance purchase is not required. Visit to learn more.

Groups: GRSF loves groups! Whether you are bringing students or taking a trip for entertainment, we’re happy to cater to your specific needs. Groups of 10 or more receive ticket discounts. Contact our Group Sales Specialist for more information.

Late Seating: Guests arriving after the start of a performance will be seated at the discretion of House Management staff. This will vary with performance.

Lost and Found: Please turn any found items over the the Box Office. If you have lost something, stop by or call the Box Office at 507.474.7900.

Parking: Ample parking is available in the Gold Lot at the corner of Main Street and Mark Street. Accessible Parking is located on the campus street directly beside the PAC.

Performance Venue: The Winona State Performing Arts Center is an indoor performance space. This means we are happily climate controlled. Some audience members find themselves chilly in the theater, so please bring a wrap if you are sensitive to air-conditioned temperatures.

Pre-Show Conversations: Beginning 30 minutes prior to every single performance, pre-show conversations give audience members a chance to get acclimated to the world of the play, the characters and Shakespeare’s language. Great for people new to GRSF and returning Shakespeare fans!

Refunds: Monetary refunds are not part of GRSF’s ticket policy. Every effort will be made to assist patrons in attending an alternate performance.

Restrooms: Restrooms are limited in the Performing Arts Center lobby. Additional restrooms are available in Minne Hall, just outside the PAC. An usher will be available at intermission to assist you in finding Minne. There is plenty of time to go back and forth between buildings.

Theater Hours: The lobby is open 90 minutes before a performance. Seating begins 30 minutes prior to showtime.

Ticket Purchasing and Pick Up: You can purchase tickets online, in person, or over the phone. GRSF takes all major credit cards, and accepts cash and checks. Tickets will be available at the Will Call window in the Performing Arts Center Lobby beginning 90 minutes before each performance. You may also pick up your tickets in advance at the Downtown Office location at 121 E 3rd Street in Downtown Winona. The Downtown Office is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10am to 4pm June and July, and Monday-Friday 10am to 4pm August through May.

The Box Office at the PAC Lobby will not print tickets for other individual performances other than the current date prior to a performance. You may stop at the Box Office during intermission for additional ticket assistance.

Season Passes: Season Passes allow holders one ticket to each professional show. The Season Pass holder is responsible for contacting the Box Office to reserve their seats to the date of the performance that they wish to see. This must be done over the phone, in person, or via email.

Smoking: Winona State University is a smoke-free campus. Smoking on campus grounds is strictly prohibited.

Weather: In case of weather emergencies, House Management  and Ushers will assist all theater goers and direct them to the appropriate emergency locations.
