Education is at the core of our mission at Great River Shakespeare Festival. Your contributions help fund the broad spectrum of educational programs that we implement every season.
Library Partnership Program: We have partnered with seven area libraries in a three-part initiative: to provide copies of the season’s plays for circulation, workshops for library patrons and community members to learn more about the plays, and complimentary ticket vouchers for the season’s productions.
$10 Student Tickets: As part of our goal to make Shakespeare available to young people, students of all ages can purchase tickets to GRSF productions for $10, any day, any play. Donor contributions help to subsidize this effort, which expands artistic and educational access to Shakespeare to students from this region and beyond.
Chill with Will: GRSF offers free tickets to high school students for a special performance of each production. Donations underwrite this effort.
Shakespeare for Young Actors (SYA): Donations supplement student tuition so we can reach a more diverse group of students and continue to provide the highest quality instruction.
Shakespeare for Young Designers (SYD): New this year, SYD provides a supplement to SYA for students interested in design for theatre. Materials are key to imaginative exploration in model-building and rendering; donations ensure high-quality instructional and creative supplies.
Apprentice Tuition: The friendly people in the red t-shirts welcoming you to the festival are young professional actors in the final stages of their training. They understudy roles in the mainstage productions, take classes, and perform their own project. Donations provide scholarships to these young artists to help launch their careers.
