NEW for 2016!

GRSF is thrilled to partner with Winona Park & Rec to provide free childcare (for children ages 3-12) while parents spend an evening at the theatre! Parents and children can kick off the fun by enjoying the free Concert on the Green on the WSU campus starting at 5:00pm. Food trucks are available, or bring your own picnic and enjoy yard games and live music. At 7:00pm, Park & Rec staff will supervise a “walking bus” from the WSU Green to Lake Lodge while parents head to the theatre for a performance of Georama (purchased tickets are required to attend the show). Meanwhile, at Lake Lodge, GRSF Education Team members will lead theater-based games appropriate for varying ages, and the Park & Rec staff will supervise & facilitate all sorts of fun and games. At 10:00pm, the walking bus will return to the theatre for parents to pick up their children following the performance. Space is limited. Pre-registration through the Park & Rec department is required.

Pre-Show Conversations

30 minutes before each performance, GRSF teaching artists present an entertaining introduction to the world of the play, the characters, and Shakespeare’s language. Located outside on Performing Arts Center patio, moves indoors in case of inclement weather.

Company Conversations

Join GRSF Company members every Thursday evening in the theater following the performance and every Sunday at 11am at Blooming Grounds on Third Street. Ask questions and find out their answers about the plays, what it’s like to work in the theater, and more!

Generously sponsored by Home Federal.

Narrated Set Changeovers

Observe the GRSF Tech Crew as they transfrom the stage between the plays. Hosted by GRSF Technical staff, you’ll have the opportunity to watch the stage shift from one play to the next, and have all your technical theater questions answered.

Will Reads

Join GRSF for Will Reads each week leading up to the festival season!

Will Reads returns with a new twist–each evening of Will Reads will feature selected scenes from one of the Season 12 plays. Discussion will intertwine with reading, and all are welcome. You can come to listen or take on a reading role–no experience necessary!

Tuesday, June 9: Much Ado About Nothing at Mugby Junction, 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday, June 16: Romeo & Juliet at Blooming Grounds Downtown, 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday, June 23: The Glass Menagerie at Acoustic Cafe, 7:00 p.m.

Where: Winona State University Gazebo

When: 9:30 a.m. on Saturday July 2 and Saturday July 16

The Tour of Trees will meet in Minne 105 if it is raining on tour dates.
