Get Carried Away – Julia Crozier

Doug: “Welcome hither, As is the spring to the earth.”

Lee: Are you singing again Doug?

Doug: That is from the Winter’s Tale.

Lee: I don’t think winter is a popular subject right now-

Doug: Exactly so I am singing about Spring.

Lee: Good hopefully it will come.

Doug: From you I have been absent in the spring, When proud-pied April dress’d in all his trim, hath put a spirit of youth in every thing.

Lee: That’s nice-

Doug: It’s from one of the sonnets.

Lee: And in the spirit of youth in every thing we have an event this weekend that is all about creation and new beginnings.

Doug: I’ll show thee the best springs; i’ll pluck thee berries-

Lee: You can stop with singing now Doug, Shakespeare loved spring and we could be here all day-

Doug: This weekend we will be. Two full days of planning and creating. We call it Spring Preview.

Lee: Our designers and directors gather and start to shape and mold the worlds that each of the plays you will see later this summer will live in. The sets, the lighting, the costumes, the props, the music-

Doug: In the spring time, the only pretty ring time-

Lee: Doug-

Doug: You brought up music again-

Lee: And he didn’t say that, did he? In spring time the only pretty ring time?

Doug: As You Like It. When birds do sing, hey ding a ding, ding: Sweet lovers love the spring.

Lee: Okay, even Shakespeare had his pop music, kind of silly days…

Doug: That is what spring will do to you, does it not? So come share those silly days with us this Sunday from 4-6pm at the History Center.

Lee: We’ll have food, a cash bar, –

Doug: We’ll announce the casting for this season, you’ll get to root for your favorite GRSF actors- find out who plays Falstaff in The Merry Wives of Windsor.

Lee: Who’s Rosencrantz, who’s Guildenstern, are they both indeed dead?

Doug: See the sketches for the first time of the sets, costumes. talk with the designers!

Lee: And we have two special treats for you- the unveiling of Julia Crozier’s final painting for our season- her painting of Hamlet.

Doug: And the very latest season video by our own beloved Chris Gerson. And it’s all free!

Lee: With a hey, and a ho, and a hey nonino;
For love is crowned with the prime
In spring time.

Doug: Now you’re singing Lee?

Lee: With that line-up of events, who wouldn’t sing. That is going to be one wonderful event.

Doug: See you there everyone, and hope you get as carried away with spring as we at GRSF have- with a hey and a ho and a hey nonni- no…
