Without our volunteers, the Great River Shakespeare Festival could not exist. The Friends of Will are volunteers who support the work of the Great River Shakespeare Festival. All Friends of Will are ambassadors and GRSF representatives to the community and theater patrons.

You may also sign up in person at the GRSF office. Stop by during weekday office hours (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) to volunteer for ushering and greeting. The Friends of Will are 350+ strong. A Steering Committee meets monthly to plan volunteer activities. 2009 Friends Co-Chairs are Terry Hawkings and Karen Fawcett.
• Administration – Terry Hawkings (Assisting office and development staff with clerical work, mailings, and special projects)
• Company Hospitality - Debbie Sheets, Laura Armstrong and Jenni McHugh (Cooking, serving, and cleaning up at GRSF Company meals during tech week in mid June, back-to-back performances, and other selected dates)
• Distribution – Dee Cipov, Tracy Morgan, and Blandine Berthelot (Distributing GRSF promotional materials locally and throughout the region)
• Education – Kathie Geiger and Michelle Kline (Working on educational programs with GRSF staff and community)
• Front of House – Karen Fawcett and Pat Nolan (Ushering at GRSF performances and events. Greeting theater patrons and providing information about the community in the lobby prior to all performances and during intermission)
• Move In/Move Out – Kim Mills (Assisting GRSF Company as they move in and move out of the East Lake Apartments)
• Sewing – GRSF Office (Sewing and assisting in the costume shop)
• Transportation – Jim Nelson (Transporting visiting artists, speakers, and GRSF Company members to and from area airports)

Local auditions for the professional acting company are held each summer during the season. Check back on this page or at minnesotaplaylist.com for further auditions for the 2010 season. In 2010, GRSF will produce Othello, The Comedy of Errors and The Daly News. The acting company will be 7 to 8 Equity (LOA based on LORT D) and 7 to 8 non-Equity actors.
All ages and ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Actors still in college or conservatory are encouraged to audition for our Apprentice Acting Company (read more). Producing Director Paul Barnes and Associate Directors Alec Wild and Doug Scholz-Carlson will attend the auditions.
