Welcome to the new Great River Shakespeare Festival Ticket system! Here you’ll be able to view a seating chart, choose your own seats, and purchase the tickets online. After that, you’ll be able to print them out to bring with you to the theatre, or you may choose to have them waiting for you at the box office. Click here, and you’ll be taken to grsf.org/tickets, where it’ll take almost no time at all to book your seats!

Please note: at this time we cannot redeem gift certificates online or process travel package discounts online. You can call or stop by the GRSF box office at (507) 474-7900 x110 and we’ll be happy to book your tickets.

You can also stop by our office at 79 East 3rd Street, Winona.

Saturday 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
The box office at Winona State University’s Performing Arts Center will be open one hour before the performance for ticket purchase as well.

Join us before the opening of Hamlet for this great GRSF tradition!  Company members and staff will showcase their unseen or previously unknown abilities in a variety show.  Past years have included sketches, scenes, songs, and poetry recitation.  Be at the WSU green at 6:00 PM- this is a Prelude you won’t want to miss!

Dr. Peter Saccio Sunday
July 26th 1PM

Returning for the 6th time to Winona, Dr. Peter Saccio is a professor of English at Dartmouth University. He is a renowned Shakespearean scholar who has published multiple discussions and criticisms, including Shakespeare’s English Kings: History, Chronicle, and Dramaand The Court Comedies of John Lyly: A Study in Allegorical Drama. He is also well-known for his lecture series for The Teaching Company, which include William Shakespeare: Comedies, Histories and Tragedies, and Shakespeare: The Word and the Action.

Frozen River Film Festival
July 12th, 1PM-3PM

The Great River Shakespeare Festival is proud to announce the screening of two documentaries from the Frozen River Film Festival: Ride of the Mergansers and American Outrage. American Outrage, focused on the Dann sisters and their fight to keep their Western Shoshone lands, was the 2009 winner of both the People’s Choice and Frozen River Awards.

Ken McCullough of St. Mary’s University will lead a discussion about American Outrage after the screening. McCullough is a member of the Frozen River Film Festival and the Dakota Gathering committee. This event takes place in the Recital Hall at the Performing Arts Center of Winona State University. (read more)

Special Benefit Performance - Monday, July 13th, 7PM

“A terrific family story that balances sweet nostalgia with the pungent bite of history” ~Paul Kosidowski, Milwaukee Magazine.

Festival favorite Jonathan Gillard Daly takes us back to 1940s Milwaukee for a true story about his family. To keep his four sons connected to the family, while World War II forced them apart, his grandfather, Martin, created a newsletter he called The Daly News. This touching musical memoir about love and the distance between fathers and sons received great reviews in its Milwaukee production at Milwaukee Chamber Theater:
