Why Free Previews?

The Great River Shakespeare Festival has been committed to the accessibility and affordability of theater tickets since its inception. The free preview program, launched in 2012, offers the public the opportunity to see both Professional Company productions one time at no cost. There will also be a free preview of our Intern/Apprentice Project. We distribute tickets first to those who have a demonstrated need for the free service, and partner with area service organizations to do so. We also use the free previews as a chance to thank our business partners and many volunteers who are instrumental in making the Festival happen. And of course, we’ll open the free preview seats to the general public on April 15th, so that everyone interested can take advantage of this offer. We hope to pack the house to the brim on these free performance dates, and to generate positive word of mouth about the 2013 productions even before the official opening weekend. If you enjoy the performances, please consider telling others about it! Your word of mouth is our very best advertising, and we hope we earn a positive review from you at the theatre.
