The Gift that Always Gives

Doug: We think of this Shakespeare Festival as a gift, one that our community gives us by supporting, and one we give to our community by providing the most thrilling theater and festival events around.
Lee: We think of GRSF as the gift that also gives!
Doug: The first two weeks have been a resounding success. Don’t take our word for it- visit our website to hear what our patrons, and the regional television and newspapers have been saying about us.
Lee: The word is spreading. We have visited Plasticomp, Winona Health, HBC, Watkins, Women in Business, The Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals, Sugar Loaf, the Lions, Exchange, and Rotary Clubs with presentations about our festival and special giveaways. We will be happy to visit your organization, tupperware party, or company to do the same. Email me at leeg@grsf.org.
Doug: And speaking of giveaways- if you visit our development table in the lobby at each performance, you can register for our “450 Celebrate the 450th” drawing, The 450 is our season long campaign to attract new and returning sponsors and while we are hoping you will give, we are also returning that generosity with unique prizes including a weekly Bloedows treat or Mugby Junction coffee for a year. The Grand Prize is a week at an exclusive resort in Mexico.
Lee: All our way of saying thank you for making GRSF your festival by considering becoming a sustaining sponsor. Any gift is appreciated, but $10 dollars a month and you can make a real difference. $100 a month and you will make me weep with joy…
Doug: Control yourself Lee. We also want to announce that all this month if you visit the following link to our silent auction sight- you can bid to own the original artwork in each of our season posters by renowned local artist Julia Crozier. This is agreat chance to support your festival and own a priceless painting- each an original oil painting and one of a kind. Hurry and bid, these are going to sought after keepsakes.
Lee: And that’s not all-
Doug: You’ve got to be kidding-
Lee: Nope- each Friday night we give a Shakespeare dozen (that’s 11, one for each season of the festival) donuts thanks again to Bloedow’s to the lucky patron sitting in the randomly selected Shakespeare Dozen seat.
Doug: And at each performance of Merry Wives of Windsor we are giving a bottle of Current Affair wine compliments of Elmaro Vineyards because the lead character Falstaff, who loves his wine, wanted you to have a drink on him. 21 and older of course.
Lee: Plus-
Doug: Don’t tell me there’s more?
Lee: It’s a festival isn’t it? We like to celebrate.
Doug: Starting Thursday July 24th, two special auctions will begin. An original Rockwell Kent print, Starry Night, and a one of a kind Vicuna sweater valued at $3,500 from St. Croix will go on sale at the special GRSF Ebay site. These are fantastic prizes that offer great chances to give and to get. 10 days of bidding and the auctions end on August 1st- to be announced at our Levee concert on August 2nd.
Lee: Details of all of these special chances to win are on our website- grsf.org
Doug: And we haven’t even talked about Calithump. But more on that later.
Lee: So come get carried away with us this season, and you will carry away not only great memories, but hopefully a little “something something” too!
