Week 6 Recap: It’s Education Week!
All of the shows are in full swing, including Romeo and Juliet. All five episodes are staged and are being performed at Levee Park before the regular performances. In addition to their own production, the acting apprentices also understudy the acting company for the main productions. This week, the apprentices worked through Great Expectations and The Tempest as a cast in case they need to go on in if someone from the cast can’t perform.
While it is sad to see some company members head home last week, we have some new members joining us- the education team! Their arrival means it’s time for education programs to start. We have three classes that started this week including Shakespeare for Young Actors (SYA), Shakespeare for Young Filmmakers (SYF) and Shakespeare for Young Designers (SYD). All of these classes are being held outdoors this year with a final showcase on July 25th at 11:30 am. Stop by to see the showcase to see what our education team and students have been working on – the Young Artist Showcase is free to all and no tickets are require. Just bring a chair and we’ll see you there!
