Magic awaits in the forest…
“The course of true love never did run smooth.”
Ah, love. Young and gooey, explosive and fiery, brotherly, unrequited, enduring. A Midsummer Night’s Dream revels in the myriad ways we find to love one another and the lengths we go in order to build and protect our most precious relationships.
Often called “an almost perfect play,” Shakespeare’s comedy tumbles out of the city into a fantastical wilderness of moonlight and magic as lovers and would-be poets – seeking freedom, romance and inspiration – stumble upon the forest realm of the fairy king and queen. What follows is a fast-paced, hilarious and heartfelt adventure where ridiculous antics lead to magical moments in unexpected ways.
Who should you bring?
This production is perfect for the whole family. Delightful, exciting, and magical, Midsummer is sure to enchant theater-goers of all ages.

The Great River Shakespeare Festival would like to invite you to enjoy our Fidget Friendly Performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Saturday the 28th of July at 2pm.
What is a Fidget Friendly Performance? It’s an inclusive theatrical experience designed to be welcoming to individuals who might have extra needs and those attending with them. This supportive environment provides an opportunity for people to attend live theatre who may not be able to do so with a general audience. As the name suggests, these performances are less formal and more supportive of sensory, communication, movement and learning needs. At no time, will anyone be asked to leave the performance due to sound, movement or behaviors related to differing cognitive/developmental abilities. This will be a judgement-free environment.
There will be staff present to help escort families who need a break from the show in and out of the theatre to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the show.
Great River Shakespeare Festival hopes that everyone in the community has an opportunity to fall in love with Shakespeare, so please bring yourself or a loved one out to enjoy the show.
If you have any questions, please contact Acting Education Director, Jenn Oswald at firstname.lastname@example.org.
