Christopher Preston Thompson
Composer – Cymbeline
Former GRSF apprentice (2006), Christopher Preston Thompson composed the songs for this production of Cymbeline. Christopher is a New York City based tenor, actor, historical harpist, and music director focused on early and new music. He has performed as soloist in venues throughout the United States, including NYC’s Carnegie Hall and Merkin Hall, and is the founding Artistic Director of Concordian Dawn, ensemble for medieval music. Christopher performs regularly with Grammy nominated ensemble for Renaissance polyphony, Pomerium, and he is a candidate for PhD in Performance Informed Musicology at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. He has given presentations and led workshops on medieval vocal and instrumental repertoire and performance practice for institutions such as Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, the Historical Harp Society, and the Modern Language Association. He is on faculty at Lehman College, City University of New York, and at Rutgers University, Newark.
