Week 3 Recap: The Season is Heating Up (Literally)

Week 3 Recap: The Season is Heating Up (Literally)

The time is ticking until Great River Shakespeare Festival season 17 is officially open! June 23rd marks the first preview performance of The Tempest and Every Brilliant Thing, followed by the preview of Great Expectations on June 24th. Tickets are available now so run, don’t walk to get your tickets today!

The company has been very busy getting ready for openings. The sound crew has started working on site at the Levee getting the sound system set up. The set is looking absolutely amazing, if you happen to take a walk in Levee, you can see the beauty for yourself (and then buy some tickets to see the shows). The acting apprentices and interns have also been working on their production of Romeo and Juliet. This show will be performed in 20-minute “episodes” before each performance at the Levee and will have one full production on July 31st.

Everyone has been real troopers working through the outrageous heat. With the shorter timeline we had to work with this year, the company is pushing and giving 110% to make the shows the best they can. While the season will look different than previous years, it will still be just as spectacular, and we get to enjoy the Shakespeare we have all come to know and love.
