What will this look like…
and why?

Shakespeare wrote his plays knowing that the audience would be integral to the experience. Both at the Globe Theatre and the indoor Blackfriars Theatre, audiences were seated (or stood) on three sides of the stage and were visible at all times to the performers. You’ll find similar staging at The Guthrie in Minneapolis and at The Commonweal Theater in Lanesboro. New in 2023, this configuration aided in developing more intimate and better understood productions. And don’t worry, you won’t be any more “seen” than any of your other audience members. All seats will be cushioned and hand railings will be available in all sections.

Check out this video showing how this configuration will look (scenery and costumes are not indicative of the 2024 Season productions).
